UMG SUSTAINABILITY FESTIVAL – 2025 EDITION
The third edition of the Sustainability Festival, organized by the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, will take place from May 19 to 29, 2025. Once again this year, the University reaffirms its commitment to achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda with the slogan “Sustainable... together we can!”, demonstrating its continued dedication to promoting a culture of sustainability.
The UMG Sustainability Festival is part of the broad array of events held nationwide by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) and is sponsored by the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS).
The festival program is rich and engaging, featuring events, workshops, debates, reflective discussions, and hands-on activities. It is the result of the contribution of multiple voices who have played different roles in this awareness project focused on sustainable development in line with the 2030 Agenda objectives.
The festival’s opening ceremony, organized by Prof. Angela Caridà, Delegate for Sustainability and RUS representative for UMG, will be held on Monday, May 19, at 9:30 AM in the “Falcone Borsellino” Hall of the Department of Law, Economics and Sociology at the Magna Graecia University, in the presence of the Rector, Professor Giovanni Cuda.
The UMG Foundation will participate with a special initiative focused on architectural sustainability: a guided tour of the new Diges refreshment area at UMG. This eco-friendly structure exemplifies sustainable architecture principles—minimizing environmental impact, optimizing energy efficiency, using sustainable materials, and promoting health and well-being.
The UMG Sustainability Festival 2025 is not only a valuable opportunity for learning and discussing sustainable practices across the region, but also a moment for collective growth and civic engagement.
